It takes a bit to get sucked in (okay, we get it, Marcus is a big manly marine man), but there’s lot of depth to the plot, and you start to care what’s going to happen to the inhabitants of this earth-like planet.One of the cool things about the game is you can play through the story with your friends. The narrative is interesting, even for someone unfamiliar with the previous two games in the series. I thought it would be a game where all you do is run around shooting things, but it was deeper than that.Īs I played the game, I connected with the characters, specifically Marcus Fenix and Anya Stroud (the story follows Marcus and his fellow soldiers as they try to survive the invasion of their planet by the Locust and Lambent alien races).
